Paula is a graduate of University of Ulster (Honours Degree in Business – specialising in finance), and of Dublin City University (MBA). Constantly up-skilling, Paula has most recently been accepted for the Institute of Directors in Ireland’s Chartered Director Programme, commencing in January 2016.

Paula’s first senior management role was with SMC Pneumatics – a Japanese global PLC, where she held the post of Finance Manager for nine years and was integral to several complex, high profile international projects, in additional to being responsible for Finance, IT, HR and Admin functions in Ireland.

In 1999, together with her business partner, Paula established Celtic Careers, which serviced the permanent and temporary recruitment needs of many blue chip multinationals and SME clients. The company recorded strong growth and financial turnover, operating from two offices with almost 40 in-house staff. After close to a decade at the helm, Paula took the opportunity to sell her shares in Celtic Careers in 2008 – at the peak of its success – in order to explore other options.

In direct response to the prevailing recessionary environment, Paula launched Finance Services in 2009 with the aim of promoting a lean business model and delivering tangible and essential financial services to a broad client base. Paula’s particular and personal interest in Irish indigenous business drove the direction of the Finance Services, which offers specific expertise in accounting, financial control, payroll and income tax. Finance Services has been acknowledged as providing a compelling and affordable model to businesses of all dimensions operating in a challenging economic setting.  The company has recorded annual double-digit growth since its inception.

Paula is also a director of and shareholder in JPI Precision and General Engineering Limited.

Her IATI qualification ensures she has a good understanding of accounting for our self-employed clients. She offers ongoing recommendations to Sage with respect to modifying payroll software to incorporate the ongoing changes in income tax legislation. Anna has worked with Finance Services for over 20 years and has developed the key procedures and policies that have been partly responsible for the company’s success since the inception of Tax Buddy. Anna oversees the running of our payroll division and actively manages the operations of the large multi-national clients, plus the group companies. She works closely with Larry on income tax solutions.

Anna is also our UK income tax expert and she assists many cross-border employees or multiple employment situations to minimise their income tax exposure.

A great piano player, her motto is ‘practise makes perfect’ and she certainly applies that to her daily work. If you want that perfect income tax return – nothing less than perfection is strived for every time.

Jeff specialised mainly in producing tax returns and accounts for sole traders, when Jeff has spare capacity he also produces management accounts and payroll for some of our larger clients therefore he is gaining a varied experience which bodes well for advising our clients on a number of issues. Jeff is currently a student of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is in the process of completing his final professional exams.

Michelle is loyal and trustworthy and has been a huge supporter of building the success to date. Michelle is qualified by experience and looks after her clients with a real sense that it is her own tax return she is filing. She works hard to make sure she can help you wherever possible. The main challenge we face is getting visibility of the paperwork such as your medical receipts, we know what a pain it is to search for paperwork –  but hey, you need to have it and Michelle is the girl who will help you.
